大平伙有個故事:卅多年前,畫家王亥帶著歌唱家太太王小瓊從成都來到香港,他們很快融入本地文化界,定期舉辦打平伙美食派對 (每人帶來一道菜共享),大家都對王太做的菜讚嘆不已, 吃過飯後,王太就會為大家獻唱中國民歌。及後在朋友推動下,夫婦倆開辦了香港第一家私房菜,由裝修到菜式都是藝術作品,常客之中不乏城中名人及政要⋯⋯
時至今日,餐廳已輾轉搬家幾次,而王氏夫婦亦已回到四川定居,但他們的美食,還是可以繼續在「大平伙」吃到。

餐廳現址在中環,走到室內,仿如一個小小的畫廊,既有三幅王亥的畫作,亦有駐場藝術家在牆壁長長的繪畫。

不單是畫作,餐廳的枱椅每件都是藝術品,如果你喜歡,可以將它們買回家,全部明碼實價。我看過,一張postcard售$1,800,所以我決定返回座位乖乖吃飯。

滋味冬瓜球 ($98)
前菜來了三碟,我不太吃辣,但這些辣度都可以接受,而且還覺得十分惹味!尤其喜歡口水雞,連雞胸也做得嫰滑;冬瓜球也很特別,味道像酸蕎頭,但換上了更入味的冬瓜,酸酸辣辣,夏天恩物。

干煸四季豆 ($180)
主菜有魚有肉有菜,大元蹄是我今晚的最愛,面頭有五顏六色的蔬菜點綴,元蹄充滿了孜然香氣,豬皮肥而不膩,邊位還帶點脆口,豬肉軟嫰非常,精彩。

老成都擔擔麵 ($68)
朋友嚷著要吃擔擔麵,於是來了三碗開心share,果然做得不錯,充滿花生香氣,香多於辣,下次來還要再吃。

最後還要了甜品,這個真的很好吃,其實是一塊炸粟米餅,材料很簡單,但粟米好甜,每一粒都黏黏的,大家只顧談天,趁大家不覺,就讓我來包底全部吃掉吧!
